Owing to the death of Thomas Pirly and the minority of Edmund Pirly , his brother and heir, 8s. assize rents from lands and tenements in Medbourne, 1/4 view of frankpledge, and a small court held there every three weeks, worth nothing after their steward’s fee and expenses, came into the hands of Henry V. Of these, 2/3 are in those of ‪Henry VI and 1/3 is assigned by virtue of a writ of ‪Henry VI, to Anne widow of Thomas Pirly , who survives, as her dower, reversion to Anne wife of John Waver [CCR 1419–22, pp.91, 250]. The rent, view of frankpledge and the small court are held of the king in chief by service of 1/4 of 1/20 knight’s fee.
He died on 23 July last. The same Anne wife of John Waver is his sister and next heir, aged 30 years and more.

For the same reasons as in 692, the manor of Little Oakley and the advowson of its church came into the hands of ‪Henry V‬ and 2/3 manor and advowson are in the hands of ‪Henry VI. In 2/3 manor there are a hall with 2 rooms attached in the upper part of the hall, 2/3 of a grange, and a garden, worth nothing yearly; 2/3 of 80 a. arable, worth 17s. 9d. yearly, price of each acre 4d.; 2/3 of 8 a. meadow, worth 10s. 8d. yearly, price of each acre 2s.; 13s. 4d. assize rents from lands and tenements in that vill, and 28s. 8d. rent from lands and tenements held at the will of the lord, both rents paid at Easter and Michaelmas; 2/3 of an assart, worth 2s. 8d. yearly, the assart held of Queen Joan in socage; and 6 1/2 a. 2/3 rood of wood, worth nothing yearly because there is no underwood. Assignment and reversion of 1/3 manor as in 692. The manor and advowson, except for the assart, are held of the king in chief by service of 1/8 knight’s fee.

Nicholas Gryffyn took the issues of the 2 parts of the manor from the time of Edmund’s death until 30 September last, by letters patent, whereupon the king by the hands of the sheriff is answerable. [Foot:] This inquisition was delivered to court by John Gerueys of Northampton.
