[Wymbyssh] Regarding inheritance as son of William son of Eleanor one of the sisters of Elizabeth late wife of Peter Melborn , and as one of Elizabeth’s kin and heirs. Peter Melborn held the lands and tenements which Elizabeth held in chief, by curtesy of the inheritance of Thomas and of Elizabeth’s other kinsman and heir William Frodesley alias Hondesacre, chevalier, son of Isabel, other sister of Elizabeth.

The jurors say that Thomas was born at Rous Lench and baptised in the vill’s church and was aged 21 years on 7 July last. They know he was aged 21 years on 7 July last, and now more, for the following recollections. Edmund Pugeon , aged 50 years and more, was retained with Thomas then abbot of Pershore to serve him annually as his chamberlain, the day that Thomas was baptised. John Thorndon , 50 years and more, says that on the day that Thomas was born a black cat, standing before him in Rous Lench, suddenly attacked his face and totally tore his nose and eyes to pieces with its claws such that he lost his sight. Thomas Kyngton , 50 years and more, was, on the day that Thomas was born, riding in Rous Lench on a surprisingly refractory black horse, from which he fell so awkwardly that he despaired for his life. John Aston , 50 years and more, espoused Alice Yonge in the church the day that Thomas was born. John Bruyle , 48 years and more, saw a large hare run across the middle of the king’s highway in front of all the parishioners of the vill, about midday on the day that Thomas was born. Ralph Mannyng , 50 years and more, says that Agnes his daughter died in the vill the day that Thomas was born. John Solers , 46 years and more, on the day that Thomas was born drove a cart pulled by five horses to Pershore, where the cart, full of hay, fell in the middle of the highway. Thomas Kay , 55 years and more, rode to Pershore on the day that Thomas was baptised to get Thomas then abbot there, to be Thomas’s godfather. Guy Spenser , 45 years and more, saw the abbot give Thomas a silver goblet the day he was baptised. John Nayme , 48 years and more, rode to Evesham on the day that Thomas was baptised, to get Katherine Wareyn to be Thomas’s godmother. Clement Mytton , 53 years, had a son named Robert buried in the churchyard of the same church the day that Thomas was born. Thomas Stanway , 47 years and more, was appointed the constable of the vill at the court of the abbot of Pershore held at Pershore, the day that Thomas was baptised.
