He was formerly seised of the manor of Albury, held the manor of ‪Henry V‬ by knight service. Alice Clement held a cottage, 8 a. land and... a. meadow [ms torn] in Albury of William of the manor by fealty and 4d. rent at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions and suit to his manor court every three weeks. William was seised of these services by the hands of Alice as by the hands of his true tenant. Afterwards he enfeoffed Richard Compton and John Compton , clerks, with the manor, holding to themselves, their heirs and assigns. Richard and John were seised of the manor in their demesne as of fee, except for Alice’s rent and services because she did not attorn to them during William’s lifetime. William died seised in his demesne as of fee of the rent and fealty as the true tenant of ‪ Henry V. He held the following in his demesne as of fee. Thame, a manor called ‘Baldyngtons manere’, of Richard Flemyng, late bishop of Lincoln , service unknown. In the manor there are the site, worth 10s. yearly; 120 a. arable, each acre worth 8d. yearly; 9 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; 15 messuages, each worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 12 tofts, each worth 12d. yearly; and 9s. rent of free tenants. North Weston, 3 messuages, 100a. arable, and 13 a. meadow, of the same bishop, service unknown, annual value 66s. 8d. Rycote, 5 messuages, 7 virgates of land and 1 a. wood, of the earl of Oxford , service unknown, annual value 46s. 8d. and rents of free tenants of 1lb. cumin and 1 ploughing yearly. Chilworth, 2 messuages, 2 virgates of land and 3 a. meadow, of Thomas Camoys, knight , service unknown, annual value 12s. and 10s. rents of free tenants.
