He held for life the manors of Derrington and Stallbrook by grant of Hugh, former earl of Stafford , reversion to Humphrey earl of Stafford as Hugh’s kinsman and heir, being the son of Edmund his son. The manor of Derrington contains 20 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly and 10 a. meadow, each acre worth 6d. yearly. The manor of Stallbrook contains 30 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly and 12 a. meadow, each acre worth 6d. yearly. They are held of the lord of Wem , service unknown.
He died on 25 July 1410. William Hyde is his son and next heir, aged 40 years and more. Humphrey earl of Stafford was aged 21 years and more on 15 August last.
Richard Knyghtley and Thomas Stokdale occupied the manors and lands and took the issues after Giles’s death until Humphrey’s majority, by virtue of the king’s letters patent [CFR 1413–22, pp.230 –1].
