He held more lands and tenements of ‪Henry IV in chief than were specified in the inquisition taken after his death and returned to ‪Henry IV’s Chancery, namely 1/3 manor of Clopton with the advowson every third presentation. The manor is held of the fee of Lyles, service unknown. Baldwin Seyntgeorge, chevalier , and John Hore , who survive, and Philip together held the manor of this honour in this form. Extent as in 74 except that there are 300 a. [not 156 a.] land, and the court baron is not detailed.
Thomas Seyntclere , his son, is his next heir to these additional lands and tenements, and was aged 21 years and more on 25 March last.
Geoffrey Clopton of Clopton occupied the manor from Philip’s death, taking all issues and still does so, title unknown.

He held the manors of Lagham, Marden, Hedgecourt and Burstowe in his demesne as of fee tail by the grant described in 69, as mentioned in the writ. Philip and Margaret had legitimate issue John Seyntclere and Thomas, his younger brother. After Philip’s death the manors descended by virtue of the fine to their sons and male heirs John, who died a minor in the wardship of ‪Henry V‬, and then Thomas his brother and heir, aged as in 88.

He held more lands and tenements of ‪Henry IV in chief in his demesne as of fee than were specified in the inquisition taken after his death and returned to ‪Henry IV’s Chancery [CIPM XIX, nos 459 –60], namely the following. Brighton, the manor called Seyntclere’s manor, held of the countess of Arundel , service unknown. In the manor there are the site, worth nothing yearly; and 6 virgates, each containing 10 a. land, each acre worth 2d. yearly. A pasture pertains to the manor, on which 100 sheep and 24 cattle are grazed each year, worth nothing yearly because lying in common. Portslade and Brighton, 42s. assize rents, in which he died seised, from certain lands and tenements, at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions.
Heir as in 88.
John, late prior of Mitcham , and William, now prior of Mitcham , took all issues of the manor from the date of his death on 14 May 1408 [CIPM XIX, no. 459] until the day of this inquisition and William still does so, title unknown. John Pelham, chevalier , took the rent in Portslade and Brighton from Philip’s death until the death of John his son and heir on 2 November 1418, title unknown. Ralph Rademede and Richard Bannebury have taken this rent since John’s death by letters patent of ‪Henry V‬ [CFR 1413–22, pp.285–6].

He held more lands and tenements in chief of ‪Henry IV than were specified in the inquisition taken after his death and returned to ‪Henry IV’s Chancery and mentioned in the writ [CIPM XIX, nos 459–60]. Namely, the manor called Seyntclere’s manor in Brighton, tenure and extent as in 82, and the 42s. assize rents in Portslade and Brighton, tenure as in 82. He had issue two sons, the elder John and the younger Thomas. John was next heir to all these additional lands, tenements, rents and services, and died on 2 November 1418, a minor in the wardship of Henry V.
Thomas Seyntcler is John’s brother and next heir, aged as in 88.
