              <holding xml:id="CIPM-HLD-22-61-1b">In 1/2 lordship of <name type="manor" quantity="1/2" key="2936824">Maldon</name> <holdingExtent>there are 1/2 house with a solar above called ‘<name type="house" subtype="minorName">Moothalle</name>’, and this solar, vacant places (<hi rend="italic">placias</hi>), and market-stalls of <name type="vill" key="495581">Maldon</name> are worth 2s. yearly; 1/2 marsh called ‘<name type="marsh" subtype="minorName">Portmannemerssh</name>’ with its annual profits, namely 2 1/2d. for each horse or colt pasturing there, 1 1/2d. for each ox and each cow, 1/2d. for each bullock, and 1 1/2d. for every 5 sheep; 1/2 assize rents called ‘Hadgamle’, annual view of frankpledge held the Monday called ‘Hokkeday’ [<hi rend="italic">sic</hi>] and 3 other general courts held at the will and convenience of the said <rs type="person">Walter Fitzwauter, chevalier</rs>, and his heirs, with all franchises and profits pertaining to the view of frankpledge and courts; 1/2 the tolls and customs called ‘Coktrey’, namely taking 2 bu. of salt from each ship (<hi rend="italic">navis</hi>) carrying salt within the port, 6d. from each ship having a boat (<hi rend="italic">batellam</hi>), and similarly from each boat (<hi rend="italic">navicula</hi>); and 1/2 that custom called ‘landchepe’, namely from each man and woman buying in the vill or these lands and tenements 10d. of every mark purchased.</holdingExtent> The moiety of the lordship is <rs type="heldOf">held of <name type="person" role="king" key="2718905">the king</name>
