Owing to the death of John Staunton and the minority of Thomas Staunton , his son and heir, who died in ‪Henry V‬’s wardship, the manor of Staunton Harold came into the hands of ‪ Henry IV and is still in those of ‪ Henry VI . It is held of Ralph Rocheford, knight , of his manor of Brandon in Warwickshire, services unknown. In the site of the manor there are a hall, 2 chambers, a kitchen, a stable, 2 barns and a dovecot, worth nothing yearly. In the manor there are 15 messuages, each worth 3s. yearly; 16 virgates of arable, each worth 5s. yearly; 2 tofts, each worth 6d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, each acre worth 6d. yearly; a pasture called ‘Hallefeld’ for agistment of beasts of the chase, worth 20s. yearly; a close called ‘le Ryding’, worth 10s. yearly; an enclosed park, worth nothing yearly; a wood called ‘le Karre’, worth 12d. yearly; a court baron held there twice a year, worth 12d. yearly; and 13s. assize rents belonging to the manor at Michaelmas and Easter in equal portions.
He died on 14 February last. Margaret Staunton is his sister and next heir, aged 17 years on 17 November last.

For the same reasons as in 25, 2 messuages, 2 bovates of land and 2 a. meadow in Willington came into the hands of ‪Henry IV‬ and are still in ‪Henry VI‬ ’s hands. They are held of the king in chief of his crown by knight service, namely 1/20 knight’s fee. The messuages are worth 10s. yearly, 5s. each; the bovates 10s. yearly, 5s. each; and each acre of meadow 6d. yearly.
