He died seised in his demesne as of fee of the manor of Eslington, held of the king in chief by 6 marks yearly by the hands of the sheriff and 16s. yearly to the king’s castle at Bamburgh as service of carting logs, annual value 60s. and no more because of the sterility of the countryside and the destruction by the Scots. He also died seised in his demesne as of fee of 1/2 the vills of Whittingham, Thrunton and Barton, similarly held of the king in chief by 40d. paid yearly by the hands of the sheriff, annual value 5 marks and no more for the above reasons.
He died on 15 October last. Thomas Hesilrig his son is his next heir, aged 15 years and more.
