He held in his demesne as of fee of ‪ Henry IV of his Crown by knight service 2 messuages, 2 bovates and 2 a. meadow in [Willin]gton for 1/20 knight's fee. Annual values: the messuages 10s. at 5s. each; the bovates 10s. at 5s. each; the meadow 6d.
He died on 12 Sept. 1409, when the land descended to his son Thomas, then aged 7 years or more. Thomas died on 14 Feb. last, when the land descended to his sister and heir Margaret Staunton , aged 16 years on 17 Nov. last.
Robert Fraunceyse, knight , occupied the lands and took the profits from John's death until 4 Nov. 1413, pretending that John had held them by knight service of his manor of Foremark and that their keeping fell to him because of Thomas's minority. By virtue of letters patent [5 Nov. 1413: CFR 1413-22, p. 40] Robert Fraunceyse and Thomas Charleton occupied the lands and took the profits from 4 Nov. 1413 until 30 Nov. 1420, when Robert died. Since then Thomas and Robert's wife Isabel, with Thomas's consent, have occupied the lands and taken the profits. [Cf. the inquisition on John in CIPM XX, no. 137, where Willington is identified.]

He held no lands in demesne or by service of ‪ Henry IV . He held in his demesne as of fee the manor of Staunton Harold of Richard Arundell, knight , of his manor of Brandon in Warwickshire, service unknown. There are in the manor a hall, kitchen, stable, barn and dovecot, annual value nil; 16 messuages worth yearly 3s. each; 16 virgates worth yearly 5s. each; 2 tofts worth yearly 6d. each; 6 a. meadow worth yearly 3s. at 6d. an acre; a pasture called `Hallefeld', 80 a., for large animals, annual value 20s.; a close called `le Ryding' containing 40 a. pasture, annual value 8s.; a park, annual value nil; a wood called `le karre', annual value 12d.; a court baron held twice a year, annual value 12d.; and 13s. assize rents at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions.
He died on 12 Sept. 1409 and the manor of Staunton Harold descended to his son and heir Thomas Staunton , aged 12 years and more at his father's death. Thomas died without issue on 14 Feb. last and the manor descended by inheritance to his sister Margaret Staunton , aged 16 years on 17 Nov. last.
