For the same reasons 1/2 manor of <name type="manor" quantity="1/2" key="3118594">Ashton Gifford</name>, which <rs type="person">Gilbert</rs> held in his demesne as of fee, came into <name type="person" role="king">the king</name>'s hand, where 2/3 remain, 1/3 being held in dower by <rs type="person">Gilbert</rs>'s widow <rs type="person">Beatrice</rs>, reversion as in <ref target="#CIPM-DOC-21-779">779</ref>. The <name type="manor" key="3118594">2/3 and 1/3</name> are <rs type="heldOf">held of <name type="person" role="king">the king</name></rs> in chief for 1/50 knight's fee. <holdingExtent>There are in the 2/3 35s. assize rents at the four terms mentioned above in equal portions, a meadow, annual value 26s. 8d., 72 a. arable with pasture for sheep, annual value 13s. 4d.</holdingExtent>
