He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the manors of East Ham, West Ham, Boreham and Great Holland and long before he died granted them to Robert Rykedon of Witham, John Whitside, clerk , and Richard Fox of Haselbech and their heirs in fee. They were seised and by their charter dated at Boreham on 20 Dec. 1414 granted them to Hugh Burnell, knight, lord of Holdgate and Weoley , for life, reversion to them and their heirs. The same feoffees by their deed dated at Boreham on 18 June 1415 granted the reversion of the manors to Edward Burnell, knight , now dead, and his wife Elizabeth, who survives, and to the heirs of their bodies, remainder to Hugh's right heirs. Hugh attorned to Edward and Elizabeth by a deed dated 19 June 1415. Edward died withou issue by Elizabeth. Hugh afterwards granted his estate in the manors to Robert Rykedon and his co-feoffees named in 654; they afterwards demised the manors of East Ham, West Ham and Boreham to Hugh for life and he was seised. By a deed dated 12 July 1416 the feoffees granted the reversion after the deaths of Hugh and Elizabeth to Walter Hungerford, knight , his son Edmund and Margery, daughter and one of the heirs of Edward Burnell, knight , deceased, and the heirs of the bodies of Edmund and Margery, remainder to Hugh's right heirs. Hugh and Elizabeth attorned to Walter, Edmund and Margery, all of whom survive. Hugh therefore held the manors of East Ham, West Ham, Boreham and Great Holland for life, reversion to Elizabeth, who survives, remainder to Walter, Edmund and Margery and the heirs of the bodies of Edmund and Margery.
