He held of the king in chief by knight service in his demesne as of fee 1/2 manor of Eaton Tregoz, annual value £10, with the advowson of a mediety of the chapel of Eaton belonging to the manor, annual value nil. Eaton Tregoz. The 1/2 manor extends on both sides of the river Wye and contains moieties of a hall, a large chamber at the end of the hall with a buttery and pantry under it, a chamber annexed to the `parlor', a chapel, a large chamber annexed to the chapel, a chamber annexed called ` John ap Harryeschambre ', a kitchen, a bakehouse, a building called `brewarne', a large stable, a large barn, a chamber over the inner gate, a chamber over the outer gate and a large cattle-shed and other tiled buildings within the site of the manor, annual value nil. On one side of the river there are 60s. assize rents in moieties of the townships of Eaton Tregoz, Snogsash and Hill of Eaton, and the following moieties: of 2 water-mills and a mill-race, annual value 26s. 8d.; of an orchard containing 1 1/2 a., annual value 6d.; of an enclosed park,144 a., in which the beasts are destroyed, annual value 10s.; of a wood called `Lynderr', 24 a., by turns (per vices), annual value 12d.; of a croft called `Scheypcrofte', 1 1/2 a., annual value 6d.; of a pasture called `Byffeld' opposite the gate of the manor, 2 a., annual value 2s.; of a field called `Parkeffeld', 6 a., annual value 6d.; of a field called `le Rye', 25 a. demesne arable, annual value 3s. The other moiety of that field, 30 a. demesne arable, is on the other side of the Wye, annual value 10s. On the other side of the river there are the following moieties: of a large grange; of a newly built thatched cattle-shed; of a ruinous dovecot, worth nothing; of 40s. assize rents in the townships of Foy, Ingestone and Hungerhill; of a field of demesne arable called `le Homme', 58 a., annual value 10s.; of 2 half furlongs called `Churcheforlonges' containing 17 a. demesne arable, annual value 12d.; of a croft called `Greangecroft', annual value 12d.; of a meadow called `Cammesmediewe', 20 a., annual value 21s.; of 1/2 a. called `Townmediewe', annual value 6d., at the end of that meadow; 1/2 a. meadow called `Gosmediewe', annual value 4d.; of a meadow called `Fooyesmediew', 6 a., annual value 6s.; of a pasture called `Capulford', 17 a., annual value 6s.
He died on 2 July 1410. Blanche wife of Robert Cheallonnes, knight , one of the daughters and heirs of Hugh, and Richard ap Harry son of Elizabeth widow of John ap Harry of Poston, another of Hugh's daughters and heirs, are his kinsfolk and next heirs. Blanche is aged 40 years and more and Richard, who was 13 years old on 5 April last, is aged 13 years and more.
Katharine widow of Hugh held a moiety of the manor and a mediety of the advowson and took the profits from Hugh's death until her own on 4 May 1420, by what title the jurors do not know. The moiety and mediety came into the king's hand, where they remain.

578A Writ de partitione facienda . 26 May 1421. [Wymbyssh]. To the escheator of Herefordshire and the adjacent March of Wales, pursuant to 578 above. The homage and fealty of Robert Cheallonez, knight , husband of Blanche, one of the daughters and heirs of Hugh de Waterton , has been taken for Blanche’s purparty by reason of Robert having had issue by her. Order to take security from Robert for payment of a relief, and to make a partition of Hugh’s lands between Robert and Blanche for Blanche’s purparty and Richard ap Harry , son and heir of Elizabeth, late wife of John ap Harry of Poston , the other daughter and heir, a minor, in the presence of Richard’s next friends, and to deliver seisin to Robert and Blanche of her purparty and to retain Richard’s in the king’s hand.
