He held of the king in chief in his demesne as of fee by knight service 1/2 manor of Vernham... in which there are 60 a. arable,..., 6 a. meadow worth 12d. an acre yearly, 60 a. pasture worth 3d. an acre yearly,...perquisites of court worth 12s. yearly...; 2 messuages, a carucate, 20 a. meadow... in Vernham Dean, Hyde, Romsey and Marchwood by demise of William Brocas, esquire , Gilbert Banbury , Bernard Brocas, knight , and Robert Dyneley to Thomas Romesye and his wife Joan and the heirs of their bodies by a charter shown to the jurors and dated at Basingstoke on 20 July 1415. One messuage and 20 a. arable are held of Stephen Popham, knight , service unknown, annual value 20s., the other messuage, 60 a. arable, 20 a. meadow, 10 a. wood, £8 rent, a rent of 12 qtr. salt in Hyde, Romsey and Marchwood and the rest of the lands and tenements are held of the abbess of Romsey , service unknown. Annual values: a messuage and 60 a. arable, 40s.; 20 a. meadow, 20s.; 10 a. wood nil because the underwood can be sold; 12 qtr. salt, 30s.
He died on 15 Oct. last. Joan Romesye is his daughter and next heir, aged 1/2 year and more.

There are in the manor a capital messuage with certain buildings adjoining, annual value nil, 50 a. arable worth 6d. an acre yearly, 60 a. fallow and pasture worth 3d. an acre yearly, 4 a. meadow worth 12d. an acre yearly, 42s. rent from freemen and bondmen at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions and perquisites of court, annual value 10s. He also held in his demesne as of fee 2 messuages and shops in the city of Salisbury of the bishop of Salisbury by fealty and service of 4s. 10d. rent to the bishop and his successors, annual value 6 marks. Jointly with his wife Joan, who survives, he held in fee tail of William Darell, esquire , service unknown, 2 messuages and 60 [also given as 40] a. arable, worth 30s. yearly, 20 a. pasture, worth 5s. yearly, 3 a. meadow, worth 3s. yearly, and 20s. rent at the two terms mentioned above in South Damerham and Martin by virtue of the charter mentioned in 567.

There are in the manor of Oakley a capital messuage with a garden, annual value 2s., 80 a. arable worth 8d. an acre yearly, 22 a. meadow worth 12d. an acre yearly, 20 a. pasture worth 4d. an acre yearly, 20 a. wood worth nothing because no underwood can be sold there, and 40s. assize rents from freemen and bondmen at Easter and Michaelmas. Annual value of the messuage and 4 bovates in Chilthorne Domer, 46s. 8d. The manor of Oakley, carucate and 4 bovates are held of Thomas, earl of Salisbury , service unknown. There are in the 1/3 manor of Mudford a toft and a garden worth 20d., 40 a. arable, worth 8d. an acre, 12 a. meadow, worth 12d. an acre, 16 a. pasture, worth 3d. an acre [might be 4d.] and 25s. rent from tenants at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions. The 1/3 manor is held of John Gray, knight, service unknown. Long before his death, after he married Joan he was seised in his demesne as of fee of 2 carucates and 70 a. meadow in Saltford, held of Richard Beauchamp, earl of Warwick , of the honor of ?Gloucester, service unknown, and demised them for life to Alexander Ca..man and his wife Margery, who survives, rendering to Thomas and his heirs 10 marks at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions, annual value beyond the rent nil. Before his marriage he was also seised of 3 carucates, 60 a. meadow and 100 a. wood in Combwich and Otterhampton, held of Thomas Ponnynges, knight , service unknown, which he demised to John Calaman and Thomas Thete, who survive, rendering to Thomas and his heirs £7 16s. 8d. at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions, annual value beyond the rent nil. Also before his marriage he was seised in his demesne as of fee of the manor of `Pupilpenne' and `Romsye Clos', held of Humphrey Stafford, knight , service unknown, which he demised to William Brag and John Semese , who survive, rendering to Thomas and his heirs 7 marks at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions, annual value beyond the rent nil.
