According to a charter dated at Upper Wick on 8 Aug. 1400 by feoffment of John Sampson, rector of Warndon , and Robert de Lyndres alias Clerk of Worcester, to Ralph son and heir of Henry Arderne, knight , and his wife Sibyl, he held of Philip, bishop of Worcester , service unknown, in fee tail jointly with Sibyl, who survives, the manor of Upper Wick with lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services of bondmen and their families, except 2 messuages there with the lands adjoining, one called `Sherreveslond', the other `Susanneslond'. Annual value of the site of the manor nil. There are in the manor 200 a. arable worth 2d. an acre yearly, 8 a. meadow worth 12d. an acre yearly, 6 a. wood, of which the underwood is worth 2s. 8d. yearly, and 73s. 4d. assize rents of free and bond tenants at the Annunciation and Michaelmas in equal portions. He died on 30 Aug. last. Robert Arderne , his son and Sibyl's, is his next heir, aged 8 years and more.
