Refers to an inquisition into the lands of Oliver the son taken by John Welyngton pursuant to a writ of diem clausit extremum [3 May 1420: CFR 1413-22, p. 331], the execution of which is superseded because it was taken out of the hanaper fraudulently. Inquire as to what lands Oliver the son held etc. [From its date it appears the inquisition below is the one taken pursuant to the superseded writ.]

He was seised in his demesne as of fee of 2s. yearly rent from a tenement called `Sadelersplace' in Shaftesbury. By a charter shown to the jurors and dated 3 Feb. 1420 he enfeoffed William Hankeford, knight , William Westbury , his brother David Cervyngton and Thomas Hobbes of the manor of Magiston, by the name of all his lands, tenements etc in Magiston, held of John Denham, knight , by knight service, annual value £10.
He died on 24 April last. David Cervyngton is his brother and next heir, aged 30 years and more.

He held of the king in chief in his demesne as of fee a messuage in Chelworth by grand serjeanty, paying to the king [?18s.] yearly at Michaelmas. There are in the messuage 50 a. arable, annual value 16s. 8d., 16 a. [?meadow], annual value 32s., customary works, annual value 30s. 0 3/4d., 1/2 a certain pasture, annual value 6s., pasture for... oxen and a bull, annual value 5s., and assize rents, annual value 23s. 4d. He enfeoffed William Hankeford and others as in 504 of the manors of Longford and South Damerham. The manor of Longford is held of the heirs of John Estkotis , service unknown, annual value 10 marks, the manor of South Damerham of Stephen Popham, knight , service unknown, annual value 8 marks.
