Herefordshire and the Adjacent March of Wales . Inquisition [indented]. Hereford. 23 Sept. [Monyngton]. The date is 'Tuesday after the feast of St Matthei apostle, 8 Hen V, which is 24 Sept. 1420, before the issue of the writ, so presumably recte 9 Hen. V.

He held the following in his demesne as of fee: the manor of Little Marcle, annual value 24 marks, by knight service of John Merbury of the honor of Weobley; the manor of Clehonger, annual value £10, held of the bishop of Hereford , service unknown; the manor of Cobhall, annual value £5, held of Edmund, earl of March ; the manor of Meer Court and Kingstone, annual value £4, held of the bishop of Hereford by knight service; a tenement in Hillhampton, annual value 20s., held of the bishop of Hereford ; a tenement with appurtenances in the Vauld, annual value 6s. 8d. and no more because charged with a yearly rent of 26s. 8d. to John Russell for life by grant to him from Thomas named in the writ by deed dated 13 Sept. 1411 ; a messuage in Larport and a messuage in Weston Beggard , annual value 40s.
He died on 18 Dec. 1420. John Barr , son of Thomas Barr, knight, junior , is his next heir, aged 9 years and more.

He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the manor of Ayot St. Lawrence with the advowson of the church and granted them to John Beyly and John Dancastre , who by a fine levied oct. Trin. and afterwards oct. Mich. 1383 [CP 25/1/90/98, no. 56] granted them to Thomas Barre and his wife Elizabeth, deceased, and the heirs of their bodies, remainder to Thomas's right heirs. They entered and were seised according to the form of the fine. Elizabeth died. Ayot St. Lawrence. The manor and advowson are held of the king in chief of the honor of Mandeville of his duchy of Lancaster by service of a sparrow-hawk worth 2s. on the feast of St. Peter's Chains for all services. There are in the manor a capital messuage, a curtilage and garden, annual value nil; a dovecot, annual value 3s. 4d.; 2 carucates, annual value 20s.; 8 a. meadow and pasture, annual value 5s.; and 105s. assize rents from free tenants at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions. Before his death Thomas granted to his servants John Parker and Reynold Parker for their service 2 messuages in Hitchin which were part of the manor.
He died on 22 Dec. 1420. John Barre , aged 11 years and more, is the kinsman and heir of Thomas and Elizabeth, i.e. son of their son Thomas Barre .
