              <ab>The jurors say that <seg type="heirBirth">he was born at <name type="place" role="birthPlace" key="818205">Whittingham</name> on <date type="birth" when="1397-03-12">12 March 1397</date> and baptised in the church there on the same day</seg>, and they remember for the following reasons:  
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <nameLink>del</nameLink> <name type="surname">Stroyther</name></name>, <measure type="age">age 60 years</measure> and more, says that <name type="person"><name type="forename">William</name> <name type="surname" role="godparent">Rodom</name></name>, one of William Heron’s godfathers, rode with him to <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> for the baptism.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">William</name> <name type="surname">Chesemon</name></name>, <measure type="age">age 51 years</measure> and more, says that he was in Whittingham church on that day for a love day between <name type="person"><name type="forename">Thomas</name> <name type="surname">Hazylrygg</name></name> and <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Swan</name></name>.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <nameLink>de</nameLink> <name type="surname">Mitteford</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 62 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he rode from <name type="place" key="101244">Bolton</name> to <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> for the baptism with <name type="person" role="godparent"><name type="forename">Edmund</name> <name type="surname">Heron</name>, <name type="role">Master of Bolton</name></name>, the other godfather.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">William</name> <nameLink>de</nameLink> <name type="surname">Cartyngton</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 54 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he was in the township of <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> to hire <name type="person"><name type="forename">Patrick</name> <name type="surname">Garre</name></name> to serve him for one whole year as ploughman
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">Richard</name> <name type="surname">Wettewang</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 53 years</measure> and more, says that he was with <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Lylleburn</name>, <name type="role">chevalier</name></name>, that day and they rode together to <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> and killed a hare in the field there.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">Edmund</name> <name type="surname">Selby</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 56 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he rode from <name type="place" key="653245">Shawdon</name> to <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> church for the baptism with <name type="person" role="godparent">Elizabeth</name>, daughter of <name type="person"><name type="forename">Alan</name> <nameLink>del</nameLink> <name type="surname">Stroyther</name></name>, William Heron’s godmother.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">Thomas</name> <name type="surname">Rede</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 65 years</measure> and more, says that he was in Whittingham on that day and bought a grey horse for £10 from <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Claveryng</name>, <name type="role">chevalier</name></name>.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">Roger</name> <name type="surname">Vssher</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 56 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he was in discussion with <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Clerke</name>, <name type="role">clerk of Whittingham church</name></name>, for an obligation against <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Lang</name></name> binding him to pay him 10 marks at the next following Whitsunday.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Hogysson</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 58 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he was in <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> to bury <name type="person"><name type="forename">Robert</name> <name type="surname">Croxton</name></name> in the churchyard there.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Belyngham</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 66 years</measure> and more, says he was in Whittingham church and saw <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Burn</name>, the parish <name type="role">chaplain</name></name>, baptizing William there.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">Thomas</name> <name type="surname">Mainevyll</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 59 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he rode with <name type="person"><name type="forename">Hugh</name> <name type="surname">Galone</name>, one of the king’s <name type="role">coroner</name>s in Northumberland</name>, from <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> to <name type="place" key="155384">Cartington</name> to view the body of <name type="person"><name type="forename">John</name> <name type="surname">Mayre</name></name> who was killed by <name type="person"><name type="forename">Robert</name> <name type="surname">Forster</name></name>.
                 <name type="person"><name type="forename">Robert</name> <name type="surname">Carlell</name></name>, <measure type="age">aged 69 years</measure> and more, says that on that day he rode with John Heron, father of William Heron, from <name type="place" key="818205">Whittingham</name> to <name type="place" key="34594">Alnwick</name> to speak with <name type="person"><name type="forename">Henry</name> <name type="surname">Percy</name>, late <name type="role">earl of Northumberland</name></name>.
