He held in his demesne in fee tail rents of 6s. 8d. from Chaddesden, 3s. 4d. from Wood Hall, 5s. 6d. from Risley, and 8d. from Breaston, all parts of the manor of Plumtree in Nottinghamshire. This manor was confirmed to William Fitzwilliam by a fine of quin. Trin. 1325 [CP 25/1/184/25, no. 267], between him and Edmund Deyncourt and Edmund, parson of Plumtree , with remainder to John his son and the heirs male of his body. It descended successively to John, John his son, William his son and John, knight, his son. It is held of the king in chief of the duchy of Lancaster of the castle of Castle Donington by knight service, annual value 23s. 6d.
He died on 4 July last. John his son and heir was aged 21 years on 15 Aug. last.

He held the manor of Plumtree in fee tail by the fine of 1325 as in 117, of the king of the duchy of Lancaster, annual value £24 19s. 4 3/4d. and no more because this manor and Emley in Yorkshire are burdened with an annuity of 50 marks. By his deed dated at Plumtree on 19 Jan. 1399 and shown to the jurors, John Fitzwilliam , son of William, knight , granted Maud, widow of William Fitzwilliam, knight, a rent of 50 marks payable by equal parts on 1 May and 3 Nov. from these manors in dower for other lands with licence to distrain if in arrears.

By a fine of mor. St. John the Baptist 1325 [CP 25/1/272/101, no. 17] between William Fitzwilliam and his wife Isabel, quer., and Edmund Deyncourt and Edmund, parson of Plumtree , def., the manor and advowson of Sprotbrough were confirmed to William and Isabel, and the heirs of their bodies with remainder to his son John and the heirs of his body, and so it descended to the John Fitzwilliam named in the writ, who held in fee tail of the king of the duchy of Lancaster of the honor of Tickhill, service unknown, annual value £36 17d. By another fine of oct. Purification 1325 [CP 25/1/272/101, no. 6], between the same parties William and Isabel held the manor of Emley, which descended as above. It is held of Henry Brounflete and Joan, duchess of York , in socage of the manor of Wakefield by a rent of 13s. 4d., annual value ?£36 13s. 4d. and no more because of the annuity of 50 marks payable to Maud Fitzwilliam as in 118. He also held 14 messuages and 5 bovates in West Haddlesey of the king in chief by knight service and a rent of 40s. payable by the sheriff by equal parts at Easter and Michaelmas.
