In right of his wife Elizabeth and for her life he held without impeachment of waste, by the grant of Adam Fraunceis, knight , deceased, to her when she was unmarried: St. John Walbrook, a messuage in the parish, annual value 5 marks; St. Mildred Poultry, 5 tenements with shops, solars and cellars, annual value £20; and St. Andrew Holborn, 4 messuages and 4 cottages with solars and cellars, annual value £10. [Cf. CCR 1419-22, pp. 15-16.] He held in his demesne as of fee in St. Swithin's parish a shop with solar, annual value £4. All are held of the king in free burgage as all London is held.
He died on 2 Aug. last. John his son and next heir is aged 9 years and more.

Long before his death he held jointly with his wife Elizabeth to them and the heirs of their bodies: the manors of Langport, Old Romney, Ringwould and Charlton by Dover, with the advowson of Charlton, by the grant with other lands by a fine made in the Quindene of Easter and Octave of Trinity 1407 [CP 25/1/290/61, no. 114] of William Esfeld, clerk . Langport and Old Romney are held of the archbishop of Canterbury of his manor of Aldington, service unknown, annual value £21, Ringwould and Charlton with the advowson of Lord Ros of his manor of Kingston by 12d. `blancherente', annual value £20. [Cf. CCR 1413-19, p. 478; 1419-22, p. 15.] On 18 June 1416 he granted all his manors of Langport in the township of Lydd, Old Romney, New Romney, Dover, Ringwould and Charlton with the advowsons of Old Romney, Ringwould and Charlton to William Bourgcher, knight , John Shadworth, citizen of London, John son of William Doreward , Robert de Teye , Richard Baynard , Robert Rykdon , John Fray , Stephen atte Fryth , and Richard Thorp and John Cook , clerks, who survive, and Robert Newport and John Warde , deceased, to them and their heirs and assigns, and the survivors still hold.

Jointly for his life he held without impeachment of waste Morehall in the lordship of Writtle and lands and tenements called `Coos' and `Frydayes' in Writtle by the grant of John Dereham , Solomon Fresthorp , Robert Neweport and Richard Foster to Elizabeth, for life, when she was unmarried, without impeachment of waste, stripping or destruction, of the countess of Hereford, service unknown, annual value 40 marks. Long before his death he held jointly with Elizabeth to them and the heirs of their bodies: the manors of Little Canfield, Little Chishill and Bradwell, and the manor called Picotts; 2 messuages, 3 mills, 800 a. arable, 32 a. meadow, 72 a. wood, £10 rent, 2 cocks and 20 hens in Bradwell, Feering, Stisted, Coggeshall, Bocking, Cressing, Pattiswick, Little Chishill and Great Chishill with the advowson of Little Chishill by a fine of 1407, as in 114. Long before his death on 18 June 1416 [2 recte 4 ‪Henry V], he gave the above to William Bourgcher, knight , and others, as in 114, to them and their heirs and assigns, as all his holdings in Bradwell, Feering, Stisted, Coggeshall, Bocking, Cressing, Pattiswick, Great Saling, Bardfield Saling, Shalford, Little Chishill and Great Chishill. They held at his death and continued in possession until Elizabeth in 1418-19 recovered all the manors etc. listed in the above fine before the justices of the bench, and she has since held and taken the profits. Similarly he held the manor of Mascallsbury in White Roding of the king in chief by knight service, annual value £15 6... Long before on 18 Sept. 1407 he granted it to Clement Spicer , John Preston , William Andrew , John Branketre and William Esfelde, clerk , who survive, and William Creswyke , Ellis de Bokkyng and Thomas Barsham , now deceased, by royal licence [not found], to hold to them and their heirs and assigns, and they still hold. He also held jointly with Richard Frenssh, parson of Bradwell , and John Cooke, clerk , their heirs and assigns, the manor and advowson of Stondon Massey of the countess of Hereford in chief, annual value £13 6s. 8d.; the manor of Ramsey of Lord Fitzwalter, annual value £20; and the manor of Wrabness, annual value £16, with a sea-water mill, annual value 13s. 4d., of the abbot of Bury St. Edmunds , services all unknown. On 18 June 1416 they granted them to William Bourgcher, knight , and others, as in 114. They still hold. [Cf. CCR 1413-19, p. 371; 1419-22, pp. 7, 15, 30.]
