On 16 Oct. 1391 Richard II granted him the office of the marshalsea of the King’s Bench for life with all fees etc., and on 10 Feb. 1397 by assent of parliament he granted the remainder to Thomas earl of Nottingham and the heirs of his body. He had issue Thomas, late Earl Marshal and Nottingham , and John, now earl.
John Wykes died on 13 Sept. last. John his son and heir is aged 5 years and more. John Earl Marshal is aged 24 years and more.
