                        </name>, <measure type="age">aged 80 years</measure> and more, says that <rs type="person">Nicholas</rs> was born at <name type="place" role="birthPlace" key="44978">Ashbrittle</name> and baptised there on <date type="birthDate" when="1368-05-04">4 May 1368</date>, and has been <measure type="age">aged 21</measure> and more long since. <name type="person">Sybil</name>, Churchehull’s mother, died that day and <rs type="person" role="parson">the parson</rs> was doing the funeral rites when a man came to where the body lay and called <rs type="person" role="parson">the parson</rs> in a loud voice to baptise the son of <rs type="person">Christina</rs> and <rs type="person">John</rs> Hulle. He hurried to the church with <rs type="person" role="parson">the parson</rs> and the boy was given his name of <rs type="person">Nicholas</rs>. The other jurors confirm the date for the following reasons:</ab>

                        </name> and others. Observing that the holy water clerk was absent … to <name type="place" key="565351">Oakford</name> in Devon to visit his sick mother. He performed all the necessary duties of the holy water clerk and saw the baptism.</ab>

They went to the church for the baptism, saying they hoped that Nicholas would prove as good a fighting man as his godfather.</ab>
