He held in his demesne as of fee the site of the manor of Deanshanger and 132 a. arable, 18 a. meadow, 6 a. wood and 4s.5 1/2d. and 1 ‘brodehokyd harve’ in rents, 1 cottage and 1 1/2 a., another cottage with 1 1/2 a. in Wike, Wicken, Passenham, Stony Stratford, Puxley, Whitfield, Deanshanger and Heathencote, all of the king as a 40th part of a knight’s fee, and by his charter dated at Deanshanger on 13 Dec. 1414 granted them to

and their heirs and assigns, without royal licence, on condition that they should enfeoff Joan his wife, who survives him, for her life with remainder to his right heirs. So they held the premises but on account of the transgression the escheator took them into the king’s hands; annual values, the site nil, garden and dovecot 3s.4d., 80 a. of the 132 a. at 4d. each, the remaining 52 at 2d. each and no more because forest land and stony, 18a, meadow at 18d. each and 6 a., 1 rood of wood nil because totally wasted.
