He held a third part of the manor of Tottenham in his demesne as of fee of the king in chief as a ninth part of a knight’s fee, annual value £18. He held lands and tenements in Shoreditch and Hoxton in his demesne in fee tail by the grant of Robert Comberton and William Cressewyk to him and the heirs of his body, with remainder failing such heirs to John son of William Comberton and his heirs. Of whom they are held and by what service is unknown; annual value £6 13s.4d. He married Anne, who survives him, and died on 16 May without heirs of his body. Heir as above.

He held in his demesne in fee tail a tenement called ‘le Hood’ in the parish of All Hallows the Great at the Hay in the Ropery, annual value 100s., which John his father left to him by his will enrolled in the hustings on 11 Feb. 1398 . John held it by purchase from John de Braughing by his charter enrolled in the hustings of common pleas on 6 May 1381 granting it to him and his heirs, with successive remainders to William son of William Comberton , his brother, and his heirs, Joan, Petronilla and Agnes, sisters of William son of William, and their heirs, John Comberton son of William, brother of John Norhampton , and the right heirs of John Norhampton . John died. James entered the tenement and held it and died without heirs of his body. William son of William died without heirs of his body. Petronilla also died. Agnes and Joan survive, aged 28 and 16 years and more and in accordance with the will it should remain to them. He also held to himself and the heirs of his body two tenements in the parish of St. Nicholas Shambles in Pentecost Lane, with remainder failing such heirs to the prior and convent of the Charterhouse to hold in perpetual alms, as appears by his will, annual value £10. All are held of the king in free burgage.
He died on 16 May, heir as above.
