111 Writ. ‡ 4 Sept. 1406 Leicester [Billyngf’]. Addressed to the escheator of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The endorsement of execution refers to only one inquisition, though in fact two were taken, one for each county, on successive days.

Jurors: John Fawell of Wilsthorpe ; Thomas Hopkenson of Thulston ; Thomas de Wilne of Shardlow ; Henry Plashden of the same; William de Boney of Ilkeston ; Robert de Halum of the same; Thomas Marshall of Risley ; John de Denby of the same; Henry atte Priours of the same; John ‘in the Trees’ of Little Hallam ; John Bate of Sawley ; and Richard Hasard of Sandiacre .
He held the manor of Risley in fee tail under a fine of 1337 [CP 25(1)/286/38, no.198] shown to the jurors, by which Adam del Clay of Sutton and Brian Lynacre conveyed it to Richard de Wylughby , the father of Hugh, and the heirs of his body. It descended to Richard as son and heir, then to Roger his brother, and then to Hugh his brother. It should descend to Edmund Wylughby, knight , son and heir of Richard the father, as the others died without heirs. He is aged 60 years and more. Risley. Sixteen bovates, parcel of the manor, are held of the bishop of Chester of his manor of Callow, service unknown, annual value 40s.; the rest of John Fitzwilliam , service also unknown, annual value 60s.
He died on 1 Sept. last . William son of Robert Mallory , son of Margery, daughter of Richard de Wylughby the father, one sister of Hugh, and Bertram son of Bertram Monbocher , son of Isabel, the other sister, are his next heirs, aged 40 years and more, and 14 years and more.

Jurors: John Skyffelyn [or –ss-; E: John ?Skyslyn of Basford ]; Richard Cartewryght of Basford ; Richard del Hyll of Beeston ; Thomas Wylford of the same; Nicholas Glasewryght of Lenton ; Geoffrey Abbot of Trowell ; Adam Waterfull of the same; John Repdon of the same; John Serle of Lenton , senior; Thomas Wollaton of Bilborough ; John Brokstowe of Sutton ; and John Gerueys of Chilwell .
He held in fee tail: Wollaton, the manor and advowson, of the king of the honour of Peverel as one quarter of a knight’s fee, annual value 10 marks. Bradmore, the manor, of the king of the same honour as half a fee, annual value 100s. (3 mess, 3 tofts, and 6 of the 7 bovates in Carlton are held of Thomas lord Bardolf, the seventh bovate is held of George de Eueryngham, service unknown, and is worth 5s. (so C, though the value is illegible there.) Carlton by Nottingham, 3 messuages, 3 tofts and 7 bovates, all but 1 bovate held of Thomas late Lord Bardolf of his manor of Shelford , rendering 1 catapult yearly, now in the king’s hands by his forfeiture, annual value 20s.; the 7th bovate held of George de Everyngham , service unknown, annual value 5s. All these Adam de Clay of Sutton and Brian Lynacre , by a fine of 1337 as above [no.111], shown to the jurors, granted to Richard de Wylughby , father of Hugh, and the heirs of his body. They descended to Richard his son and heir, Roger brother of Richard, and Hugh brother of Roger, all of whom died without heirs. They should descend to Edmund de Wylughby, knight , son and heir of Richard the father. He is aged 60 years and more.

William Mallory of Leicester, son of Robert Mallory , son of Margery, one of the daughters of Richard, senior , and sister of Hugh, and Bertram Monbocher , son of Bertram Monbocher , son of Isabel, the other daughter and sister, are next heirs, aged 40 years and more, and 24 years and more.
