Addressed to the sheriff and escheator to hold an inquisition in accordance with the commission of the same date, inter alia whether John Sutton of Houton died without heir or had any surviving heir, and return before the quindene of Michaelmas next on pain of 200 marks, [CPR 1408–13, pp. 431–2].

As above, pursuant to an assize of novel dissein concerning 1/3 manor of West Markham, which John de Tuxford and Katherine his wife claim was granted by Francis de Meryng to John de Sutton and Gilbert his brother, and the heirs of the body of Gilbert, remainders to Katherine Sutton the younger – now the wife of John de Tuxford – and the heirs of her body, and the right heirs of John de Sutton. John de Sutton afterwards died and Gilbert died without heir of his body, and John Sutton died without heir.
